Belinda Hirzel - Room 3 - Year 1

Welcome back to Term 2 in Room 3. The scientists are excited and ready to experiment!  It has been an exciting start to the term, and many enquiring minds in Room 3 have already been wondering and making predictions as part of our Science topic, “Let’s experiment”. We have already made suggestions as to what might happen to our Kumara shoot in the days and weeks ahead, and are investigating such Essential Questions as:

What is Science about?

What do Scientists do?

What is the special procedure we follow when we do an experiment?

We hope to do a different experiment each week that allows the students to practice following the experimental method, as well as finding out lots of exciting answers to the questions we are asking about what, why, when, who, where and how things happen around us. Students will even get to carry out experiments at home with their parents to share back at school, so get your lab coats on parents and get experimenting. We look forward to sharing our discoveries with our families and each other!
