Term 1 Week 2

Room 21’s Week 2 Wrap Up

What an awesome start to Term One.  Room 21 is a very special group of characters and I feel very lucky to be teaching them all. We’ve had an action packed first few weeks.

We have been enjoying getting to know each other and playing a number of team building games.  The human knot was an interesting game that requires us to tangle ourselves up and without breaking the chain, unfold ourselves.  I think we might need to practice that one a bit more to be successful guys ;)  Mrs Whitehead’s version of Wink Murder was certainly a big hit!  Watch out for John everyone ;)

In Reading we have completed a Roald Dahl Reading Assignment, looking at his life and the wonderful books he has written for children and adults.  We are all certainly enjoying reading The Twits as a class each day.

In Writing, we have been writing all about our wonderful selves and learning about the exciting lives we all read.  They are published now and displayed in the classroom for your enjoyment.

In ICT, with the help of Mr Gover, we have been learning how to make an advert for MVTV.  It will screen on Monday’s show when we are the guest audience.  We are still astonished to believe how much work goes into a 40 second advert!  It took an hour and a half to film and that doesn’t include Mr Gover’s time to edit it!

Another highlight of this week was a visit from the Black Sticks NZ Hockey players.  What incredible skills these players have and their level of commitment to their sport is inspiring.  Mrs Whitehead is pleased she impressed them enough with her skills enough to win the extra posters and bookmarks for Room 21 J

Check out the photos of us enjoying MVTV in the classroom and learning in the Library.

Keep up all your hard work Room 21.

Until next week,

Stay cool til after school!
