Welcome to Room 10 2010
We have an exciting year of learning ahead of us and I am looking forward to getting to know you and your children as we learn together during the year.
The integrated topic of inquiry for Term 1 is “My voice is Powerful”. We learning that as individuals we can make a difference. We will be investigating different charities and how they get their message across and raise funds for their organisation. We will then be advertising and raising funds for an organisation of our choice. We have a visit planned to the SPCA and will have other organisations coming to visit and talk to us.
Our value for Term 1 is “Integrity” and we will be looking at different ways we can display integrity through our work and behaviour.
Thank you for sending your child with their stationery we have been using some of our new books already today. We have taken photos of our class busy at work on our first day. They will be uploaded once the children's internet permission has been checked.
Expect a reading book home each night, we ask that the children do at least 15 minutes reading. Their Reading Log is in the back of their Homework Book, please sign and make a comment. Homework is due in on Friday, we mark it together, test our spelling and have a “Chunky Challenge” with the chunk for the week.
We have Dance & Drama on Monday, ICT on Tuesday, Library on Thursday and assembly on alternate Fridays.
Remember Athletics day is fast approaching: Friday 5th March. We look forward to seeing you!
