Jocelyn Leyland - Room 7 - Year 2

Room 7 has been including a lot of detail on their self portraits.

Welcome to Room 7  

 The term has been busy and exciting. We had a wonderful trip to the North Harbour Gymnastics Centre. The children warmed up with games and stretching on the sprung floor, then divided into teams which were lead by the talented and well qualified coaches who work at the gym. 

All the children had turns on the trampoline, the high bar and the balance beam. They learnt basic floor agilities and skills for working on the vault.  Many were surprised at what they could acomplish.

Our Science topic has been enjoyed by all. The class has learnt the correct procedure for carrying out an experiment, and the appriopriate scientific language to use when discussing our investigations.

 Next term our topic is "Looking back to look forward". We will find out about early New Zealand history and what lessons can be learnt for today, from finding out about history.
