Term 3 Week 6
Room 21’s Week 6 Wrap Up
It is hard to believe we are over half way through term 3 already!
In Writing, we have been learning to publish and illustrate our very own Maori myths. We have used our wonderful imaginations to come up with unique ideas as to why and how natural features and places around Aotearoa have been formed. We have taken great care and pride to publish our myths into a special book, including an eye-catching cover and illustrations throughout our myth. These look absolutely fantastic and reflect the level of effort that each child has put in to their work. Please feel free to come in and read them – they are definitely worth a visit!
In ICT, we have been learning how to photoshop our own portrait photos. Last week Mrs Whitehead took photos of everyone in the classroom and with the wonderful help of Mr Giver, we learnt how to ‘greyscale’ our photos. This week we have been learning how to shade these photos effectively s we can display them in the classroom. Last week Mr Gover briefly showed us how to distort the photos too, so we can’t wait to go back and try this next step! Perhaps keen an eye out for some strange, almost unidentifiable, creatures appearing on the walls of room 21 soon...
Thank you so much to all the families who have kindly donated a gold coin to Room 20’s SPCA cupcake and biscuit fundraiser. It is very kind of you and we really appreciate your support. Roll on Monday 30th August when we can purchase the delicious treats!!!
How did you get on with the online wordle last week? The answer was ‘Check up’ (as in the word check was written in an upwards direction). Well done to Grace and Daniel, who managed to work out this one. Our homework sheet next week has a few tricky wordles in it – perhaps Mums and Dads can help out with these ones too? This week’s wordle is from the homework sheet, so if you work it out, you’re one step ahead of everyone else doing your homework! Don’t forget the online wordle is worth 50 points for your group and a chance to go on the raffle board!
