Term 3 Week 5
Room 21’s Week 5 Wrap Up
Week 5 has raced by and what an interesting leaning week we’ve had. In Writing, we began our very own Maori myths. We had reviewed a few famous Maori myths and began brainstorming our main characters, the problem they were going to have and what natural formation or place would be formed as a result of the main characters altercations. I have been so impressed with the creativity the children have shown in writing these myths. They are definitely of a high quality and all worthy of publishing! We have all agreed that they are so special we are going to publish them in our own personally, specially made books. This will be next week’s job! Not only will we be authors, but illustrators too!
Congratulations to Grace, Luke and Chrisma, who participated in the Year 5/6 Table Tennis tournament on Thursday. We were very proud to have you represent our classroom! Well done guys! Congratulations also to Blake for winning this round’s raffle. We love the raffle board. Who will be our next winner I wonder?
Don’t forget to support Room 20’s SPCA cupcake and biscuit fundraiser by bringing in a gold coin donation by next Friday. This is such a worthy cause and I hear Dana’s Mum makes the most delicious cupcakes, so I definitely can’t wait to buy some on the 30th August!!
Over the past few weeks, we have been enjoying many leisure activitiesas part of our PE programme. Below are some of the photos of us playing table tennis, handball, 4-square, connect 4, and pick-up sticks.
How did you get on with the online wordle last week? The answer was ‘I’m upset’ (as in the word I’m, was upside down and thus upset). That was a REALLY tricky one!!! Well done to Grace, who with a few clues, managed to work this one out and get her name on the raffle board. So how about another one? Don’t forget the online wordle is worth 50 points for your group and a chance to go on the raffle board!
