Matt Sheales - Room 27 - Year 8

Wow! Term 3 is coming to an end...

Term 3 has been an exciting and interesting time for all members of room 27.  My main focus in term 3 and for term 4 is to ensure the children are prepared and confident for the transition to high school.  This can be a scary time for the children and I want them to have the right skills and strategies to handle a variety of situations they will encounter.

We have been working hard on taking responsibility for ourselves, for our own learning and also understanding there are consequences for our choices.  For some, this has been a case of tweaking their already strong work ethic and behaviours, for others, it is a case of adjusting their current thinking and establishing and maintaining a strong work ethic.  It is important to note that all children are progressing in achieving this focus.  Matt Sheales.

We have been very lucky to have Miss Ailini Fuimaono, in our class for weeks 7, 8 & 9.  She is completing her Certificate in Education.  Ailini has been a great asset to room 27, taking the class for fitness, art, maths groups, essay writing and being involved with the school volleyball teams.  Congratulations Ailini, on a successful time at Marina View School.

This term our programme has consisted of our intergrated unit, I'm Here!, Now What?, family crests, geometry, fractions, essay writing, options, woodwork, cooking, basketball, netball, volleyball, ICT and puberty talks.
