Juicy Words

We are learning to use juicy action verbs in our narrative writing.

The crowd goes dead silent. The teams wait nervously, waiting for the game to begin. The muscle bound players race, their hearts beating at an extraordinary pace. A mighty player beats the odds, getting the ball first. Everyone wants the ball. A member from the other team leaps in the air, battling the other player for the ball. Veins pumping, the battle for a placing in the finals begin. The crowd cheers wildly, hoping their team will win.  Written by Kate M♥ ☺

The Athlete

Muscles bulging, legs sweating. With one smooth effort he sprints through the field scattering players all over the place ready to score a try. The crowd cheers, encouraging him to stay strong. With one big leap he slides across the line. The crowd cheers loudly as he runs back into position. Written by Joshua De Wet.

Heart pumping nervously. Arms ready for push off. Lots of power trapped inside, mind focusing on the bang.Thousands of people wait in silence, soon it has begun. Legs are making a start. Lots of people cheer for the effort she has made. A big leap though the finish line and waiting for the score.
